There...Isn't Nick Nolte in the film version?

There, I commented. Of course, I could have just strolled over to IMDB and looked it up myself (take about 1 minute) but where's the fun in that?

Wait, I just did...and he is. Along with Robert Shaw, Jacqueline Bisset, and Lou Gossett Jr. What a cast! From the director of Krull. Could it possibly be better than Jaws??briankirkerhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/17643958101369262877noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-32302521.post-3852387235783314082009-11-05T18:34:51.719-08:002009-11-05T18:34:51.719-08:00Oh my! this is a combination of compliment and cri...Oh my! this is a combination of compliment and criticism worthy of ... well, ME!

Nevertheless, I'll take a compliment anywhere I can get one! Thanks for the kind words about the quality of my prose - sweet of you to say!

And don't worry, I know I'm not writing to an empty house here - I get plenty of emails when I touch on something anybody on Earth besides myself would find interesting (which isn't often, I grant you, but it happens). It's just nice once in a while to get comments, that's all. They're one of the currencies of blogging, after all.stevehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/00411174345391126343noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-32302521.post-74710599628306152292009-11-05T07:27:17.561-08:002009-11-05T07:27:17.561-08:00Well, if you wrote worse than you do, people might...Well, if you wrote worse than you do, people might be more inclined to get their Bics out and sport with you in public. As it is, yours -- your writing, I mean -- is so imposing that one must simply, so to say, retract in dismay. See how it is? You make people want to write well, too, but the result, compared to yours, will inevitably fall short. It's like being talked across a room by someone who knows so much more than you do that you feel like a corned idiot and hope to god no one else is overhearing the expose. I wouldn't be writing even this if it weren't that the absence of comments gives me the impression that no one else is actually in the room to listen. Ah, but what you really want is to have your ego stroked -- is that it? Okay. Despite the risk of being overheard, I'll dare to reach out to you. Feel better?Anonymousnoreply@blogger.com
